Q: Who or what is doktakra?

A: Dokta Kra (doc-tah kr-ay) -- which coincidentaly rhymes with Dr. Dre -- is the nickname / rap moniker that I first started using in high school.  It's stuck with me through this day (mostly through my own use of it), and many people still call me by it (or just Dok or Kra for short).  Some of my other names over the years have included D.Krizzle, Kra-Z, Kap'n Kra, Kra-dawg, Kra-zilla, DK, and A-Train.

Q:  So you're a rapper?  Have I heard any of your songs?

A:  I continue to express myself through my writing, but it's obviously more of a hobby at this point.  I'm realistic about my slim chances of getting a record deal, but it's always been my dream to be a singer...and I hear it's good to hold on to your dreams.  I did have a couple of hits back in the day -- at least one person I know has my tracks on his iPod.  Look, even if you haven't heard me, like I'm not better than half the people on the radio or American Idol?

Q:  What do you write about?

A:  Like most men, I'm all about the double D's...except mine are despair and delusion.  While I'm at it, let's throw in depression and denial for good measure.  Nah, it's not that bad...or maybe it is.  I don't even know anymore.  I like songs that are about real topics and not the repetitive stuff that's on the airwaves, so a lot of my tracks are about hopes, dreams, and all that other sad s***.

Q:  Riiiight....so what do you do for a living then?

A:  I've worked in a top investment back in downtown New York for just about three years, with a three-month "vacation" in the middle.  I'm not sure I'm at liberty so say anything beyond that.  Actually, there are lots of clues throughout this site that would make it easy to figure out if you're really interested.

Q:  Are you trying to make a name for yourself with this site?

A:  My primary objective is to express my thoughts without being edited or banned from distribution.  If that happens to gather a little bit of attention, it would be a welcome development.  And if I ever do become famous, I'll already have a site for my stalkers...I mean, fans.

Q:  Why should I look at this site?

A:  My blog is probably the first place to look if you're trying to decide whether this is the place for you, as I have a peculiar sense of humor.  It's just what I was feeling at the time....I'm always adding other pages and features.  You can also find me on lowposts.com and Blogcitics.org.
