All of My Obsessions in One Place

My Life

Rocky Followup

Seeing Rocky Balboa last week inspired me to pick up the "Rocky Anthology" box set of the five previous releases.  I hadn't watched these movies in 15 years (hard to believe it was that long ago), and while they're inevitably dated, I fogot how much I used to love them as a kid.  I watched the first two this week, and I'm planning a Rocky III evening tonight (I think this was was my all-time favorite).  I also wrote in response to a review by ESPN Page 2 columnist Bill Simmons, and there's a small chance he may publish my letter.  I will provide the link this dream comes true.  The only problem now, is I can't get the music out of my head -- I'm constanly humming it and nodding my head at my desk at work.  This probably makes me look even more crazy than usual....to the five people that are actually here.  Getting strong now...

What is going on? <br> <br>I had the privilege of watching the new Rocky Balboa movie a week ago and overall it was a good movie. However, I feel like they should have focused and provided more insight into some of the other characters. I was looking forward to how his relationship was going to develop with the bi-racial kid. <br> <br>What do you have to say about that? <br> <br>A blast from the past, <br> <br>C-Lo <br>"The artist formerly known as Carlos in GS", LOL

So good to hear from you again, C-Note! I hope all is well with you and Gemini. <br> <br>Good point on one of the the movie's major flaws: character development. I felt that no one outside of Rocky was central to the movie, unlike any of the previous releases. The storyline with the kid hardly went anywhere, and didn't really show a lot about Rocky, himself either. But hey, it's an unrealistic sports movie about a 60-year-old brain-damaged boxer, so let's take it for what it is.
